At the same time, I believe that - so long as they accept that there is a concept of rule of law which goes beyond particular views, homophobes, too, should be treated in a tolerant way. Take the case of Owen and Eunice Johns in Britain, for example. It wouldn't be nice to think of a fostered child of theirs having a "coming out". But that shouldn't be the only concern when judging peoples' suitability as foster parents. After all, natural parents can be homophobes, too. <br /><br />I'm deeply skeptical of intolerant views of the world, and even more so when they come in a "religious" guise.
